Thirsty Thursday | Wine and…SkinnyPop!

Active girls on the go know how to eat. And if you are anything like me, you know how to drink too. Ha! One of my go to snacks, whether at lunchtime or while I’m on a DVR binge, is SkinnyPop. They must have known my relaxation (and indulging) habits, because they sent me a cheat sheet on how to pair all of the SkinnyPop popcorn flavors with wine. Yes, you read that correctly…WINE! And you know what is even better? Like wine, SkinnyPop is gluten and dairy free! No artificial flavors or GMOs are just added perks.

SkinnyPop WineI like to break my wine into seasons – white in the summer and red in the winter. This isn’t gospel of course, because we all get our cravings, but I have come to love the pinots…both white and red. Give me a nice cold glass of pinot grigio on the back deck as the sun is setting any night. Or pour me a full bodied pinot noir as I cozy into the couch under a blanket with my husband. I went ahead and took the liberty of trying all of the pairings for you. Here are my faves:

  • SkinnyPop Jalapeno paired with pinot grigio is perfect to fill my sweet and salty warm weather cravings. The spicy lightness of the popcorn is best washed down with a smooth pinot grigio.
  • And if you haven’t paired chocolate with red wine yet, what rock have you been living under?! Next time you go to open that bottle of pinot noir, might as well grab a bag of SkinnyPop’s Dusted Dark Chocolate too.

Have yourself a nice at-home pairing – with a friend, your significant other, or your best group of neighbors – then come back and tell me what you thought. What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments below. And be sure to share with your friends!
